The idea of starting the public vocational school, known as “FIRE Tech”, came as a pathway for high school students and US Military Veterans to achieve the next steps of education towards getting into the fire service. That want and need from students in King County, Seattle and surrounding areas to peruse their EMT’s or Incident Qualification (“Red Card” or Wildland Firefighting) certifications has grown enormously. Those certification courses were not offered to the public or were filled to the point that the high school students did not have the ability to sign up for the class.
What is FIRE Tech doing to help solve this?
FIRE Tech has recognized this need and offers one of a kind programs to help encourage students and veterans to achieve those dreams. We provides a pathway to high quality training for affiliated or non-affiliated (public) students of all ages where they are able to take those next steps towards becoming an EMT, Wildland Firefighter, or Fire Service Professional. What really sets FIRE Tech apart is the genuine care and compassion for each student we encounter. In our class, students will feel a part of the fire service family dedicated to helping them achieve the best education, training, and experience.
This passion extends even beyond the classroom to helping students in an array of EMS or Firefighting subjects such as assisting with job applications, working on interview skills, or tips for being successful as an industry professional.
Lastly, FIRE Tech takes great pride in helping each student succeed in their personal and professional goals. In our class students will be trained to a high-quality industry standard ensuring they meet and exceed expectations. FIRE Tech also takes great pride in valuing the success of each individual person. We are constantly striving to improve our training methods, equipment, and classroom environments. That way our students have the best opportunity not just ready to pass a test, but to really thrive in achieving their personal goals.
It is a great honor to be a part of the Fire Tech team and helping students and veterans of all ages join the Fire and EMS family. Our commitment to providing industry leading training intermixed with the compassion of the Fire/EMS community makes this program a one-of-a-kind opportunity for students achieve their dreams. – Austin Allen, FireTech – Instructor/Advisor
