Program Overview
An intensive 11-week EMT course designed to prepare participants in all phases of pre-hospital emergency care to include: medication administration, trauma management, soft tissue injuries, environmental emergencies, lifting and moving patients, infectious disease education, emergency childbirth and more.
FIRE Tech Academy has no education requirement beyond a high school diploma or GED. In other words, students do NOT need to be enrolled in or have completed any college or higher education certificates prior to taking our EMT class.
Entry/Admission fee includes one NREMT test attempt. At the conclusion of the 11-week course, each student will be provided one opportunity as part of the program to take the NREMT (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians) test.
Upon completion of this course and the NREMT test, students will be ready to hire and begin their career as an EMT.
WHY FIRE TECH ACADEMY:
FIRE Tech Academy is approved by the Washington State Department of Health, the Central Region Trauma and EMS Council, and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
Every class is taught by a firefighter/EMT or paramedic. These firefighters use stories of medical calls they went on the shift before to add real-world context to academic topics.
Benefits of being a FIRE Tech alumni include follow through and advice in moving onto the next level. As a member of the FIRE Tech family, we do our best to help you succeed and move forward in future endeavors beyond this class.
